Project Outputs:

The project will result in cross-border coordinated and professional protection of the common natural heritage in the border region, which represents an exceptional potential for the continued development of sustainable tourism and for mitigating the regional impacts of climate change on the ecological stability of the landscape.

Project Goals:

The aim of the project is to improve the condition of protected areas in the central part of Hrubý Jeseník Mountains and Praděd National Nature Reserve, with a cross-border extension to Králický Sněžník area, Śnieżnik Kłodzki area, and Jaskinia Niedżwiedzia. This goal can only be achieved through cross-border coordinated monitoring of the natural environment and tourism, support for species through visitor management (barriers guiding tourist movement supplemented with informational boards), and environmental management practices that align with sustainable land use (mowing and grazing of alpine meadows).

Project Activities:

The key activities of the project include:

  • coordinated data collection on the natural environment to support management plans on both the Czech and Polish sides,
  • implementation of measures to improve the condition of target species and their habitats,
  • exchange of experience between project partners,
  • information campaigns for the public.

Project Outputs:

The main output was an action plan presenting joint solutions to the problems identified during the project implementation. The plan was intended for practical implementation for the follow-up project Sněžnický Zwornik II. Its main purpose was to define specific procedures, responsibilities, and indicators for long-term cooperation in the protection of valuable natural areas in the Czech-Polish border region, particularly in Králický Sněžník area.

Project Goals:

The main goal of the project was to establish a system of long-term cooperation between state nature protection authorities of the CR and PL, designed to deepen mutual trust and strengthen cross-border connections between residents and institutions of the Czech-Polish border region. An important element of the project was enhancing the language skills of staff in both organizations, thereby increasing the efficiency of public administration by supporting formal cooperation between nature conservation authorities of the Czech Republic and Poland.

Project Activities:

The key activities of the project included:

  • sharing of good practice,
  • exchange visits and excursions,
  • language and communication courses,
  • networking of professional workers,
  • a long-term cooperation action plan with a ten-year outlook.
